How to root Droid Maxx Android 4.4.4 SU6-7 Build

Today I am here with another step-by-step root tutorial for the Motorola Droid Maxx running on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with the build number SU6-7. Let me clarify at the beginning, this root method is very complicated (but don’t worry, I have made it simple for newbies) and takes around an estimated 1 hr 20 mins, so make sure you’re ready to sacrifice your time and energy for the whole process.
Thanks to the Xda developer  CrashXXL who has made it possible to release all-in-one package that can unlock bootloader, root and install SuperSU on the Droid Maxx but as I said earlier, it takes time so you need to have full battery and try this at your own risk. The dev and PROGEEKS will not be responsible for any damage or bricked devices but that being said, this method perfectly works and is absolutely free so you’ve nothing to lose but you’ll gain root access to your device giving you tons of features unlocked.
So let’s move on and root your phone.

How to root Droid Maxx

Before you proceed to the rooting process, I would recommend you to check Android version and build number on your device. Go to Settings > About phone > and check version and build number make sure it is 4.4.4 and SU6-7. This will tell you, if your device is compatible for root or not.
You’ll also need to download a bunch of files:
  • Software and drivers: Link
  • Download stock firmware 916 MB (1FF-OBAKE-MAXX_VERIZON-USER-4.4.4-SU6-7-RELEASE-KEYS.XML.ZIP)Link
  • Scripts and ROM – Link
Now let’s move on and root Droid Maxx:
Step 1: First step is really important part of this whole tutorial and make sure that you do it. You need to the restore your device using the stock firmware using the RSD lite tool.
Step 2: Install Pyserial 2.7 (included in the package you should have download earlier using links above).
Step 3: You should now unzip the drivers and scripts folder to the folder C:\Python27.
Step 4: Reboot your phone into bootloader mode. Power off and hold the Vol down+Power keys for around 6 seconds.
Step 5: Connect your device to PC, make sure you’ve installed the USB drivers.
Step 3: Run BLBROKE.bat.
Step 4: After running that particular commands your device should have a black screen (this is normal), it is now in Qualcomm mode. Open Device manager > Ports (COM & LPT) and check that Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 driver is installed. If not don’t worry, you can install it manually by right clicking on it and select update & install driver, choose browse and select that Python27 folder in C directory
Step 5: Finally run RUN_Root.bat to restore your bricked device. You need to have patience as it will take more time around +30 mins so make your phone is already fully charge.
Step : Once completed, you should have a message, “Bootloader Unlocked” and your phone will reboot.
