How to Fix iTunes Not Recognizing iPhone Windows 10

Did you upgrade your system to the latest Windows 10, and you were all excited about it until the iTunes stopped recognizing your iPhone? Sometimes, the issue isn’t as huge as it seems and just need a little attention. Same might be the case with you. Before moving to the step-by-step procedural guide, I suggest you ensure you have done the things below.

• First, reboot both your phone and PC and then check.
• Try using a different USB port as it may be damaged. Verify it by checking if your system detects your phone.

• Make sure you have installed all the Windows updates.

Press WinKey+1>Update & Security>Windows Update and check for the updates there.

• Promptly trust the computer. When you connect your phone to your PC, a pop-up message occurs on the iOS screen asking “Trust this computer?” Hit the “Trust” button quickly. It has fixed iTunes doesn’t recognize iPhone windows 10 problem in most of the cases.

Fix iTunes Not Recognizing / Detecting iPhone

If you have followed the steps as mentioned above and the problem still persists, don’t freak out! I have another fix for you. Follow the steps below.

1. Go to Control Panel

Once you have installed the latest version of iTunes, go to Control Panel>Hardware and Sound>Devices and Printers.

2. Look for your Phone

Your iPhone would be located in the “unspecified” section. Go to it, select and right-click on your phone’s option and hit “properties.”

3. Select Hardware

A pop-up window will emerge on your system’s screen with two broad options: General and Hardware. Select “Hardware” and hit the “Properties” button at the below right corner.

4. Change Settings

A new window will occur as soon you hit properties. Select “General” from the top four options above. There you will find an option “Change settings” at the below-left side. Click on the option to alter the settings as per your needs.

5. Update Driver

Once you chose change settings, a similar window will appear, now with five options at above: General, Driver, Details, Events, Power Management. Chose “Driver” and click on “Update driver” from the main pane.

6. Chose One Out of Two Options

Now, you will see a window with two broad options. Select “Browse my computer for driver software, ” and it will locate and install the driver software for you, automatically.

7. Chose a Folder

Now, you have to choose a folder where the software will be installed. Select “Browse” from the emerging window and go to “C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.” This is where you should be installing. If you don’t find this location, try checking in “C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.”
Once you have browsed the location, click “Next” from the options below and then “Close.”
