Google Contacts now available on any Android phone with Lollipop or above

Google has now opened up the Google Contacts app to any Android smartphone running Android Lollipop or above. The app was previously exclusive to Lollipop devices from Google’s own range of handsets, like the Pixel and Nexus range, but, as of version 2.1.2.164543808, that is no longer the case.
The Google Contacts app includes backup and sync for your contacts via the Google Cloud, making them accessible on any of your devices, as well as a straightforward interface typical of Google’s homegrown apps. Contacts, as you might expect, allows you to add, edit and manage your contacts’ information in addition to supporting multiple Google accounts (like for work and personal use).

It’s smart too, helping clean up and merge duplicate contacts similar to what Google Photos does with duplicate pictures, and providing suggestions for adding further info to existing contacts.
You can download the latest version of the Google Contacts app for free via the button below. And, if you’re fixing to get your hands on another app formerly found only on the Nexus and Pixel devices, the Google Camera app was recently unofficially ported to Snapdragon 820, 821 and 835-based devices — find out more about that here.
