Now,after two years, the Motorola Moto G is enjoying Android 7.0 Nougat, even though Motorola never updated it past Lollipop and Marshmallow. The Motorola Moto G (2014) can be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat via a custom ROM like CyanogenMod 14.
All thanks to “LuK1337”, a recognized developer over at XDA, who released CyanogenMod 14 for Moto G (2014) users. CM14 is based on AOSP, meaning that the entire experience is very similar to a Nexus device.
